a synthesis of sabbatical stories
really interesting! I've been writing and reflecting on my own sabbatical recently, and it's interesting to see different perspectives here.
"I actually think of money more when doing things which I don't necessarily like." <- a lot of parts resonated, but this on in particular.
oh yeah this one was interesting to me as well! I had to ask him over text to say more because I was so curious haha
Great essay! Interesting to compare everyone else's story to my own. Here's a couple essays that I wrote about the journey:

Chris! I love your quote "Most unexpected thing? That I haven't been bored at all this whole time."
So true. It's wild how fear allows us to think that we'll be bored without being told what to do at a job
It's interesting that when I was in my job I was willing to be paid to be bored. Now I realize that being interested can lead to making money.
Beautifully stated. Why be paid to be bored? That is wasting so many interesting and curious ideas.
